Tulsa Chautauqua brings the past to life by examining the lives of remarkable men and women throughout history. We work with scholars who, building on historical and cultural research, introduce new views on the lives and impact of historical figures. Our scholars present in-character performances, workshops, and discussions to inspire new views of the human experience.
Tulsa Chautauqua is a five-day event held in June every year, consisting of evening performances and daytime workshops. The evening performances are first-person portrayals of a historical character and conclude with Q&A sessions for both the character and scholar, while the daily workshops explore the cultural and political nuances of the selected era. All events are free and open to the public.
